STUMP GRINDING VS DIGGING

Grinding a stump is generally less expensive for medium to large stumps, and it's typically the ideal solution when the goal is to back-fill with dirt, plant grass, reclaim lawn, etc. It takes the least amount of time, with only shavings to clean-up.

Digging out stumps is generally less expensive for smaller stumps, but it becomes a more expensive option with medium to large stumps. However, it's the ideal solution when soil structure is important (e.g., building above where the stump was) or depth is an issue (e.g., turning the area into a garden, planting another tree, etc.). Digging generally takes more time, makes a larger mess, and requires stump disposal plus material to back-fill the hole.

We offer both and can advise based on your end goals.
