GRINDING VS DIGGING

Grinding a stump is generally less expensive for medium to large stumps, and typically the ideal solution when the goal is to back-fill with dirt, plant grass, reclaim lawn, etc. It takes the least amount of time with only shavings to clean-up.

Digging out stumps is generally less expensive for smaller stumps, but becomes the more expensive option, with medium to large stumps. However it's the ideal solution when soil structure is important (building above where the stump was) or depth is an issue (turn the area into a garden, plant another tree, etc.) It generally takes more time, makes a larger mess, requires material to back-fill the hole and the stump needs to be disposed of.

We offer both and advise based on your end goals.
